Mountain Lions in LA

Featured Speaker :  Tessa Charnofsky, MSW MPA, Urban Wildlife Manager National Wildlife Federation

7:00 p.m. Social w/ Coffee and refreshments
7:30 p.m. Program Begins

Tessa Charnofsky, MSW MPA, Urban Wildlife Manager National Wildlife Federation will be speaking on “Mountain Lions in Los Angeles”. Included in the discussion will be our local resident of Griffith Park identified as “P22” who is near and dear to all of us. Here is your opportunity to catch up with his wanderings and his progress.  The discussion will also include information on the upcoming “P 22 Day”, which is an  opportunity to trace P 22’s journey to Griffith Park and the Urban Wildlife Festival.
One of the National Wildlife Federation’s missions includes creating wildlife corridors. There will be an update on the wildlife corridor (bridge) that is planned to be built across the 101 Freeway near Agoura.  Wildlife needs connectivity just as, on our part, we need to keep our connections to wildlife.  This coexistence concept is what drives The National Wildlife Federation’s vision for California and Los Angeles.
The book, “When Mountains Lions Are Neighbors,” by Beth Pratt Bergstom, will be available for purchase at our meeting with all proceeds going to support the National Wildlife Federation.

All SCRA and Non SCRA members are welcome.

Alan Dymond, President, will also update members on current issues and if available, our Senior Lead Officer, Shawn Smith, will update us on crime in our neighborhoods.

The Studio City Residents Association (SCRA), an all-volunteer organization, is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the neighborhoods of Studio City and the quality of life of SCRA members. The SCRA provides a platform for the interests, concerns and passions of SCRA members regarding the Studio City community.
